Is BULKHEAD making a Battlefield 2142 Titan game?

Short answer: BULKHEAD has a prototype codenamed Titan, a remake of Battlefield 2142's Titan mode, but it isn't making it right now. On 17 October BULKHEAD's CEO Joe Brammer said the studio is doubling down on WARDOGS instead, because the Battlefield 2142 audience isn't big enough to make sense commercially. For me, 2142 is one of the best Battlefields I've ever played.

What did BULKHEAD say about the Titan prototype?

BULKHEAD's CEO Joe Brammer posted about the Titan prototype on 17 October:

"Lowest selling Battlefield but also one of the best?! Genuinely awesome. We have a prototype for a game codenamed Titan that is a remake of Titan mode… We decided to double down on @WARDOGS because the audience isn't that big for BF2142, doesn't make sense commercially.. but man it'd be fun."

So it exists as a prototype, and it's parked. Nothing about a release.

What is Titan mode in Battlefield 2142?

Titan mode in Battlefield 2142 is a mode where each team has a Titan, a huge flying warship with a shield, and the aim is to destroy the other team's Titan while defending your own. You fight over missile silos on the ground to knock the enemy shield down, then either keep hitting the hull with missiles or board it, destroy four reactor consoles, blow the reactor and get out before it goes down (Wikipedia). Battlefield 2142 came out in October 2006, made by DICE.

Was Battlefield 2142 actually good?

Yes, Battlefield 2142 was amazing. When it came out I was living in barracks in Germany, and we were all playing it. We had a squad of between eight and twelve of us hopping on together. It's one of the best Battlefields I've ever had, and one of the most fun experiences I've had playing with a group of people.

It's extremely nostalgic for me.
