When does WARDOGS Season 2 end?
Short answer: WARDOGS Season 2 ends when Season 3 starts, which is currently set for Thursday 12 November, with a fresh economy reset (PCGamesN, 25 October, after a developer replied to a Steam review with the date). BULKHEAD hasn't put it in a patch note or an announcement yet: its dev vlog this week covers Season 3, and I'll update this page when it lands.
Why is WARDOGS Season 2 ending early?
WARDOGS Season 2 is ending early because of how the launch went. BULKHEAD decided on day three not to wipe Season 02 straight away and to bring Season 3 forward instead (will WARDOGS reset Season 02?). On its podcast The Hotzone, the team said that means a four or five week season instead of six to eight (at 31:00). Season 02 started on 15 October, so 12 November is four weeks in, which is not long to get into it again.
How long will WARDOGS seasons be after Season 2?
After Season 2, BULKHEAD wants WARDOGS seasons to last about three months, with a smaller update halfway, because the team says it can't keep up with monthly seasons (at 47:00). A new progression system called Intel, a seasonal resource that lets you unlock things in any order, is planned for the second quarter of 2027. Brother, that's miles away.
Do I want shorter or longer seasons?
I'd prefer longer seasons, where progression matters. I don't want a three-month season if I unlock everything in the first three days, or if everyone else has everything unlocked in the first three days. I'd rather they went back to the grind. That's what made me put the hours in.
Will thermals stay out of WARDOGS in Season 3?
Nothing's decided on thermals for Season 3. On the podcast, WARDOGS' creative director said they would back the infrared binoculars out again, others wanted to keep them for the sniper fantasy, and one suggested a rework, such as foliage blocking them (from 52:00). The team called it raw and not to be taken as gospel. I'd just keep them out. If they really are breaking the numbers and BULKHEAD has the data to support that, keep them out (why were thermals removed from WARDOGS?). But I think there are bigger problems. The claim that tanks aren't wrecking it is wild.
What should change in WARDOGS Season 3?
For Season 3, I'd move the tank higher up the tree and make it take longer to get one. Saying I could do a couple of Ural runs and have one is hyperbole: it does take a few, but then you're level 20 and you've got the tank (are tanks overpowered in WARDOGS Season 02?). BULKHEAD's own numbers back that up. Drivers went from 9% of players in Season 1 to 44% on Season 02's first day, what BULKHEAD called a 340% increase in people wanting to drive because of the early tank (by those two figures it's nearly five times as many), and the team said it can't support that long term (at 20:00 and 51:00).
What am I doing until WARDOGS Season 3?
Until Season 3, I'm still just driving the Ural back and forth. I'm not even really playing the game properly, and I've not put many hours in lately. I've been away, just on the laptop. It runs on the laptop, but not as smoothly as on my tower, so sometimes the combat can feel a bit frustrating, especially on a much slower connection: I've dropped from 500 down to 50.
What's annoying me in Season 2 right now?
The map is annoying me in Season 2 right now. I found out today that the map is covered until you've made it to the zone once. What am I going to do as a Ural driver if I can't see where I'm going before I get there? The Season 02 patch notes say that if you join a match in progress or switch teams, your map stays hidden until you reach the control zone for the first time, and you can't use the spawn vehicle until then either.
