Which WoW Forever campfire buffs are worth it?
Short answer: the Fish Bowl, if you can find a fisher. It gives 8% to all stats for an hour, which looks amazing. The Camp Tent is the other one worth chasing while you level, because it tops up your rested XP. Just check your class buffs first: some campfire buffs don't stack with them, and the Fish Bowl clashes with the Paladin buff Blessing of Kings.
How do campfire buffs work in WoW Forever?
You build a campfire, people place profession objects around it, and anyone who sits there for about a minute gets each object's buff for an hour. You unlock it early: around level 5, a quest called The Great Outdoors has you sit at a campfire, then sends you to train Cooking so you can build your own.
A Basic Campfire holds three objects. Cooks can upgrade to a Journeyman Campfire at Cooking 90, which holds five, and an Expert Campfire at Cooking 200, which holds ten. Each player can place one object, and every camp object shares a one-hour cooldown. The first object for each profession unlocks at skill 20, and better versions drop as Blueprints from dungeon bosses.
You don't need a party or a group for any of it. I place my own campfire, and I often place it near where other people are, so they can put their objects next to mine. You can place yours next to anyone's campfire and stack them there.

Which campfire buffs are there?
One buff object per profession, except Engineering. These are the level 60 values where they're known; the Lute, Banner and Mana Well are weaker below 60.
| Profession | Object | Buff | Doesn't stack with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fishing | Fish Bowl | 8% all stats | Blessing of Kings |
| Leatherworking | Camp Tent | Rested XP, up to 5% of a level | Nothing listed |
| First Aid | First Aid Kit | Stamina | Not listed |
| Skinning | Camp Chair | 2% crit | Moonkin Aura |
| Mining | Lodestone | Melee Attack Power | Blessing of Might |
| Blacksmithing | Sharpening Wheel | Attack Power | Strength of Earth Totem (reported) |
| Herbalism | Incense Candle | Intellect | Arcane Intellect |
| Tailoring | Faction Banner | 32 Spirit (14 under level 40) | Divine Spirit |
| Enchanting | Enchanted Lute | 308 armour, 13 all stats, 22 all resistances | Mark of the Wild |
| Alchemy | Mana Well | 29 mana every 5 seconds | Blessing of Wisdom |
| Engineering | None | Repair and reagent bots instead |
The skill 20 versions are cheap to make. The Fish Bowl is a Raw Brilliant Smallfish and an Empty Vial, the Camp Tent is five Light Leather, the Camp Chair is three Light Leather and two Simple Wood, and the Lodestone needs Rough Stone.
Which campfire buffs have I actually had?
Mostly mining, skinning and blacksmithing: the Lodestone, the Camp Chair and the Sharpening Wheel. Looking at the full list now, I think that's just because people had the same idea I did, picking those professions to earn gold. Mining and Skinning is my own setup, and Maple carries a Sharpening Wheel and a Campfire Kit in her bags.
I've used both the Camp Tent and the Camp Chair. I didn't notice the chair, but I'm a tank, so I don't know how much I'd ever notice 2% crit. I did notice the tent.
Which campfire buff is best for a tank?
The Fish Bowl or the First Aid Kit. Eight percent on all stats would be crazy. The First Aid Kit depends on how much Stamina it gives by itself, and that number hasn't been published yet.
There's a catch for Paladins. The Fish Bowl doesn't stack with Blessing of Kings, and the Lodestone doesn't stack with Blessing of Might, so if you already have one of those blessings, only one of the pair applies. My own add-on tells me to cast Blessing of Kings on myself, so for me the Fish Bowl clashes with a buff I already keep up. Pick the object that covers a buff you're missing.
Is the Camp Tent worth it?
Yes, if you're levelling. It tops you up to 5% of a level in rested XP, and that was super useful. You can use it on cooldown, which would have been a good reason to take Leatherworking, especially if you want to speed level.
It does nothing once your rested XP is already above 5% of a level, so it's a levelling tool, not something you need at 60.
Why is my campfire buff not working?
Usually it's a class buff clash. The campfire stat buffs are mutually exclusive with the matching class buffs in the table above, so you only get one of each pair; Blizzard's 1 October beta notes changed the wording to "mutually exclusive" to make that clearer. You also have to stay at the fire for about a minute.
I haven't noticed one fail on me, but I've got my own add-on, MapleBuffs, that reminds me about buffs, so if one wasn't going to stack, it wouldn't have told me to get it. It reminds me to carry a campfire, tells me how much wood one costs if I haven't got one, and when my campfire buffs time out, I get a pop-up telling me to go and sit at a campfire.
It covers more than campfires. It reminds me about every buff, food and potion, depending on what's in my bags at the time. For something I should always carry, like a campfire, it tells me what I need to make it, and for food it tells me to go and buy more. Potions are the only thing it doesn't send me shopping for.
