Is Minecraft worth it on Switch?
Short answer: no, Minecraft isn't worth it on Switch if you have anything else to play it on. In 2020 I started a Minecraft channel that was just Nintendo Switch, Sink plays Minecraft. When my Elgato capture card broke, I moved to PC, and it was so much better. The channel is still sitting at about 4,300 subscribers and over a million views, even though I stopped uploading in 2023. The Switch version is a janky port. If you only have a Switch, sure, get it, but I'd recommend mobile over Switch.
Why is Minecraft on Switch worse?
Minecraft on Switch is worse because it's such a janky port of the game. When I went back to PC I still played Bedrock for a while, the same version as on Switch, and it was fundamentally so much better on PC.
Is Minecraft Bedrock worth paying for add-ons?
I don't think Minecraft Bedrock add-ons are worth paying for. Honestly, Bedrock is just a money grab. The add-ons you buy with Minecoins can't really change much: a lot of it is just changing a number from a one to a two. There's not the same level of complexity you get from modding Java.
Should you play Minecraft on Switch, mobile or PC?
Play Minecraft on PC if you can, ideally Java if you want mods. If you're choosing between Switch and mobile, I'd go mobile. If a Switch is all you've got, it'll work, but expect a slightly jankier, worse experience than on any other device.
